Community outreach is an important facet of Frost Music Live’s educational and cultural mission.

Each season, as part of its objective to make the arts and culture accessible to everyone, Frost Music Live presents selected concerts free of charge. The Frost School of Music provides free admission for the University of Miami students as well as many local school music groups, social service organizations, and senior citizen centers. In order to bring visiting artists to the widest possible audience, most master classes are free and open to the public.

In order to encourage low-income young adults and senior citizens to attend more cultural events, Frost Music Live participates in two highly-regarded programs of the Miami-Dade County Cultural Exchange. The youth program, Culture Shock Miami, makes $5 concert tickets available to students between the ages of 13 to 22 years old. Seniors can attend select concerts free of charge through the Golden Ticket program. For more information about these two programs, please visit www.cultureshockmiami.com or www.miamidadearts.org/education/golden-ticket-arts-guide.

Over the years, the Frost School of Music has made each season unique and memorable to all patrons. In the past, free and discounted tickets were given to the Miami Gardens Senior Center, Girl Scout Troop 276, Mays Conservatory, City Year Miami, Heroes Unite, and many others. Organizations are also given a donation of tickets that can be used to raise money for their projects. Some of these organizations include: Leadership Miami, Citizens Interested in Arts, American Friends of Jamaica, Junior Opera Guild, Marine Science Graduate Student Organization, Coral Gables Congregational Church, and many others.

Every year, the combination of a diverse concert lineup and educational opportunities scheduled throughout the season allows us to reach out to community members across the age and economic spectrum. For more information, please email fmtickets@miami.edu.
